Preliminary Ecological Appraisal

Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA) provide an initial baseline assessment of a site's biodiversity value and identify any ecological constraints on site. They are frequently referred to as an Extended Phase 1 Habitat Survey, Walkover Survey or Scoping Survey by Planning Authorities. In order to avoid unforeseen delays we recommend that a PEA is carried out a soon as possible within the project development phase and prior to the submission of planning.

Wildscapes provide a range of habitat surveys including:

- Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA)/Extended Phase 1 Surveys
- Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA)
- Hedgerow surveys
- Botanical surveys

We provide services to take a project from start to finish, including BREEAM assessments, Biodiversity Offsetting and Habitat Management Plans.
